What the Current Workplace Grant Can Contribute
The Workplace Charging Scheme is a voucher-based grant for eligible organisations installing chargepoints at qualifying places of work. The amount is calculated against eligible purchase and installation costs; it is not automatically a fixed payment for every socket.

How Much Is the Workplace Charging Scheme Grant?
For qualifying workplace installations completed on or after 1 April 2026, the current scheme provides the following support.
Grant Percentage
Up to 75%of eligible chargepoint purchase and installation costs, including VAT, subject to the maximum allowance.
Maximum Per Socket
Up to £500for each eligible socket. If 75% of the eligible cost is lower than £500, the lower figure applies.
Applicant Limit
Up to 40sockets across all sites. Later vouchers may be possible until the cumulative limit is reached.

Who May Qualify for the Workplace Charging Scheme?
The scheme is open to eligible businesses, charities, public-sector organisations and small accommodation businesses in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. A separate version of the scheme is available for qualifying state-funded education institutions.
The applicant must own the property or have the required landlord or landowner permission. Parking must be off-road, clearly associated with the premises, designated to the applicant and suitable for installing chargepoints.
For an ordinary business application, qualifying parking is expected to support staff or fleet charging rather than spaces used solely by customers. Different user rules may apply to charities, public authorities and small accommodation businesses.

A grant enquiry is not the same as an issued voucher
Under the current Workplace Charging Scheme, successful applicants receive a voucher code. The voucher is currently valid for 180 days, and the chargepoints must be installed and the claim completed within that period. This website form does not create, extend or replace that voucher.
